My Friend Irma - Irma Goes West Movie

My Friend Irma - Irma Goes West Description: "My Friend Irma (1949): Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis made their celebrated screen debuts as a pair of juice bar owners aspiring to careers in showbiz in this fast and funny adaptation of the radio show, My Friend Irma. The eponymous dumb blonde Irma (Marie Wilson) is engaged to unemployed Al. When Irma lauds Martin's singing, he decides to go into the management business and represent Martin and Lewis. Al sweet-talks Irma and her roommate Jane into putting up with Martin and Lewis as roommates, and Martin soon falls for Jane, who has her eyes set on wooing her rich boss in hopes of wedding wealthy. Comic madness abounds in the rooming situation, in Irma's consistent bumbling, in Martin and Lewis' efforts to achieve stardom, and in the love triangle between Jane, Martin, and her boss. Songs include: "Here's to Love," "Just for Fun," "My Own, My Only, My All," and "The Donkey Serenade."

"Irma Goes West (1950): The story begins when Irma and her friends head westward on the incorrect assumption that Steve Laird (Dean Martin) has landed a movie contract. During the train trip to California, Steve's goonish pal Seymour (Jerry Lewis) is entrusted with a pet monkey, owned by movie star Yvonne Yvonne (Corinne Calvet). There's a run-in with gangsters and a kidnapping before a happy ending can be realized."
