Starring: Maureen Spring, John Smith, Obe-Wahn, Gloria Leonard, and Phedra Grant. Maureen Spring is a terrific actress. It's too bad she didn't stick around the porn scene longer. She is very believable in her part as Iris Hogg, a small-town girl who rises from rags to riches and back down to rags again. She has a unique ability to draw viewers in and garner their sympathy. Also turning in good performances for the men are John Smith and Obe-Wahn. You get the feeling they could almost make it as legitimate actors. They are very believable as childhood friends growing up together. Too bad these three people (Maureen Spring, John Smith, and Obe-Wahn) just seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. They did not leave much of a legacy behind. Gloria Leonard always turns me on; it's too bad she isn't paired with a guy in this one. Phedra Grant gives perhaps the film's most erotic charge in herturn as a white prostitute in Vietnam (huh?) taking on multiple black and white soldiers. She definitely has presence. Where did she go?

The films production values rate as terrific. Just count the locations. There are scenes in a country backwoods, in a Vietnam whorehouse, in an outdoor cafe, and a San Francisco mansion, among others. The film was shot during the time when porn sometimes aspired to something more than mindless copulation. the music is good, too. It compliments the none-too-happy story well.

The film has it's erotic moments. I love watching good girl Maureen Spring getting her pussy eaten and fucked. Phedra Grant's turn as "The Empress' may be the film's erotic high point. It is a turn-on tosee her rug being fucked and munched. This will please fans who like their women to have some hair down there instead of those thin landing strips that are so common today.

What do I like best about this movie? I like its freshness. I like the freshness of the cast members. With few exceptions, it's definitely not the same cast of characters that turn up again and again. I also like the production values of the film. You can tell the creators tried to make this film a rel film.

This is comparatively minor, but I didn't care for the magnified pictureof Maureen Spring's pussy in one scene. Definitely not erotic.

Definitely different than the typical porn film. I give it a 9.
