Taken Movie
Taken Description:
TRADE-IN

| Miles' Rating: | | |
Starring: Ginger Lynn returns with director Veronica Hart in another edgy psycho-drama, but this one lets the eroticism of its solid premise drain away by stretching the plot to nearly 150 minutes. With nods to mainstream films like "Tattoo" and "The Collector," it taps emotions explored in "Behind the Green Door. " Ginger is the object of Evan Stone's obsessions. Though the film is replete with twist, at it's heart is the story of a captive who may or may not be falling for her captor. Shot on film, Veronica Hart again proves superb filmmaker. Sound and lighting are flawless. It's the plodding storyline that gums up the works. The girls are luscious. Psychiatrist Alexandra Silk will make you drool as she drains patient Herschel Savage, and even though Savage's marriage to Ginger is shaky, they share a superb early morning fuck with Ginger balancing his cock and her vibe. It's great stuff. Ginger, of course. Even when the film's plot kicks in and her captor, Evan Stone, manipulates her, we can see Ginger's deep sexual desires bubbling to the surface as she admits to his games. I can think of a better argument for encouraging more mature actresses to keep going. She's as attrative as ever. It's also in that second half that sex dreams pop up--a sign a film is running low on ideas. And though we sense Ginger enjoying the light S&M, the sex never ignites with the passion of the earlier scenes. A 7. Not nearly as good as her recent venture with the New Wave Hookers, nor as interesting as "White Lightning," still, Ginger makes it worth seeing. Just beware, it runs too, too long.

| Triple F's Movie Review (2) |

Starring: Ginger Lynn stars as the frustrated housewife who is kidnapped by a man who mght be a serial killer played by Evan Stone. Ginger Lynn does the dialogue scenes with gusto, but her sex scenes clearly leack her patented flair. Evan is convincingly menacing as the kidnapper, but his performance weakens when he supposedly falls in love with Ginger. Top flight. Great film look and the dream sequence utilized some nice flash editing. There are some nice acting moments, like the scene in the car when Ginger goes from flirtateous to frightened on a dime. Part of the problem is that after the first 15 minutes, it feels less like a real porno movie and looks more like a made for cable film, with some hardcore sex shoehorned in. There are long-winded passages of dialogue, and director Veronica Hart (porn goddess of the 70's) tries too hard to setup the romantic aspect of the Ginger-Evan relationship. Disappointing. I was always against Ginger's comaback to porn, but never moreso here. Her scenes lack the sheer intensity she is historically known for. She has five scenes in the movie, and all lapse badly into too-couple friendly Candida Royale territory. One of them is talking to her children over the phone. Talk about ruining the mood. The mention and discussion of children should be forbidden from any porn film. Veronica did throw in a couple of early hot scenes to spice things up. Adajja's pool fuck, and Herschel's visit to psychiatrist Alexandra Silk serve up some hot anal action. Very typical for Ginger to not have the best scene in any film. In fact, the Adajja and the psychiatrist subplots were far more compelling than the main plot. Unfortunately, they're not continued after the first 15 minutes, and the weaker main plot has to cary the film. Besides Ginger's lacluster sex scenes, I was most disappointed by only one Rebecca Lord scene, a weak girl-girl with Ginger that closes the movie. Rebecca is easily the best looking woman in the cast, but hardly gets touched in the film. She looks incredibly fetching in her french maid's outfit. You actually wonder during the film why Evan even bothers to look at Ginger, much less kidnap her, when he's got a hot piece of ass like that 24-7 as his serving wench. At least in Torn and White Lightning, which aren't near her best films, Ginger delivers the goods. Here, you feel she's just marking time until she can find regular acting work. She's really jeopardizing her legendary status with an incredibly flat film, even for a couples effort. I give it a 5.
